I’m Heidi Thompson, a mother and writer living in Hawaii.

Last year I began weaning myself off technology. I deleted my social media accounts. I also quit blogging.

The consequences have been minimal. The benefits have been enormous. I now have space for silence and solitude and most importantly being present with my daughter.

The break also gave me the space to write my first memoir. It's almost done. It's called "Neophyte: The True Story Of How I Survived A Sex Cult."
